Seeing as how James(Jimbow) and I own the Outlands server, I'll make this:
This does not apply to units, as units are not allowed into the Outlands unless there is a major event going on (Operation Moonlight), OTA will not stop for you and you will be marked hostile.
There is no going back without authorization and a very good reason.
If you traveled out with someone else, a vouch from that person would be nice, but not required, if you traveled on your own, I want a long detailed story about it.

Username: {3} Jealous {3} SteamID: STEAM_0:0:26005403 Character Name: Crystal 'Sacagawea' Grant Character Affiliation(Resistance, CWU, Vortigaunt, Etc): Resistance/Railway director Character Journey(2+ paragraphs): After weeks of prepping for her sister, Amara, A.K.A 'Promise', and for herself she gathered enough vital supplies to send her sister out to the outlands, still gathering some for herself. "Amara... Just keep going down the tunnel and take this flashlight, if anything bad happens I want you to turn right back..." It seemed as if Amara was in thought "Okay, Crystal... I love you." Amara went down the tunnel on the tedious path to the outlands, but it's a small price to pay for freedom. A few days passed and Crystal, A.K.A 'Sacagawea' (me), was completely ready to leave and get reunited with 'Promise'. She gathered essentials, Two flashlights, Enough bandages to last a few weeks, and one other man to help him escape the city. They left on foot within thirty minutes of getting out of the sight of the patrolling officers, then they left through the tunnel and went on the journey to freedom. The man seemed weak so 'Sacagawea' gave him some roasted headcrab she packed before she left. He seemed as if he was sick. The man talked about his life before the war as did 'Sacagawea', a long walk to the outlands entrance didn't have much entertainment so this occupied their bored minds. Headcrabs were everywhere and all 'Sacagawea' had was a metal pipe, and all the man had was just an axe in case we had to hack something open with it. We did get attacked multiple times but we managed to stay healthy with a few antibiotics and bandages. After the first day went by they rested in an enclosed area that seemed like an old closet, 'Sacagawea' put down a stitched quilt she made and she went to sleep with the man by her side. The next morning she woke up. But one thing was missing, the man. She hollered the mans name but she wasn't going to turn back for him, this is where a radio would come in handy she thought... Upset, and alone, she continued on the path still shouting the mans name a number of times before she gave up hope and continued on the journey with just herself. On the path she stumbled over a few dead bodies and gave her respects to the fallen victims of the headcrabs and zombies... And as she was paying her respects she turns around and sees a zombie right behind her, 'Sacagawea' gasped and grabbed her pipe, stumbling on the ground over a dead body. She got up as quickly as she could and slung the pipe over the zombies head, injuring the host of the body. She ran away before the zombie got a chance to injure her... She got down the path farther, seeing her previous companion deceased next to a fast headcrab, she gasped and step back cautiously and got attacked by the fast headcrab! It was trying to get on her head but she grabbed it with her hands before it jumped on her and threw it on the ground, stomping it with her boots harshly. She then pays her respects to her fallen companion and takes her flashlight and axe she lent him... She noticed that a note was in his pocket, 'Sacagawea' didn't want to be nosy but perhaps she could mail it to whomever it was for on her way to the outlands. She opened up the note and read it in her head "Dear 'Sacagawea', I apologize for leaving you, this note is mainly to apologize and I do regret leaving you behind like that and taking your belongings but at night I heard the scream of a girl in the distance and I ran out of the room... If you find this I am either dead or you found my scrap paper. Please tell 'Promise' I said hello and tell her to behave herself. - Jarry" A tear fell under 'Sacagawea's' cheek as she read it, she then gave his lifeless body a kiss on the forehead and went on her way, clutching the note to her breast... A few hours passed and she found a small campfire in the tunnel, there were some beans and a few bottles of opened beers around it... She didn't want to intrude on whomever's camp it was so she left before trouble appeared. Still around twenty more miles to go, she opened up a bottle of rationed breen water and drank it... She then took out some of her packaged headcrab meat and took some nibbles on that and continued down the long, dark, enclosed, tunnel. The smell of sewage and rotting flesh could make a small cat faint but 'Sacagawea' was determined to make it to her dear sister, and live peacefully out in the outlands. Not that she hasn't gone there before, and she knows what kind of freaks are out there, but she knew if she stayed away from trouble she could accomplish anything, especially with helping people through the railway. After some hours of walking she took a break to wrap her blistered feet in bandages and took a half a pill of antibiotics. She cracked her neck and protruded down the tunnel. She was gaining excitement as she saw the very same lambda mark she saw last time she exited to the outlands. She smiled and quickly ran out the tunnel, rubbing her eyes as she approached the bright light that seemed like a mixture between heaven and hope. She was there. She walked up to the town in search for 'Promise'... Then the story begins. Do you understand that just because you are going into the outlands doesn't mean you get guns, and will be placed in the refugee town and possibly ignored by the resistance themselves?(Yes or No): I understand <3 YES. SteamID: steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197998958346Character Name: Mathias Jenkins Character Affiliation(Resistance, CWU, Vortigaunt, Etc): Resistance Character Journey(2+ paragraphs): Travelled to reconnect with Tyrone Parading. Mathias Jenkins was a factory technician prior to the 7 hour war. After the Combine occupation of earth, Mathias was assigned to City 23. When he arrived to his appointed living quarters, within Apartment Block A, a judgment waiver had begun over the city. Surprised at the Combine's brutality and lack of training (A certain recruit saying "Fuck" several times giving orders) he observed in the line-up, he imediately decided to work against them. Mathias then proceeded to enter the underground through the sewer enterance (The Combine were very unorganized after the judgment waiver had passed, and were not guarding the sewer blockade). When he got inside, he wandered around, and ran across a man in a uniform that was herding refugees into a hidden base. His name was Jon Warr, and he went on to initiate Mathias into the resistance. As the days passed, Mathias was assigned along with his childhood friend Tyrone to dissect combine equipment to learn the equipment to better defeat them. One day, their operation went horribly wrong, and Tyrone ditched Mathias in the slums, telling him to meet him in the Outlands. Desperate to be reunited with his friend, Mathias rushed through the underground sewers of City 23, and went towards the blinding light at the end of the tunnel that lead to the outlands. Do you understand that just because you are going into the outlands doesn't mean you get guns, and will be placed in the refugee town and possibly ignored by the resistance themselves?(Yes or No): Yes (Although I'm already resistance) Accepted Speak to an Admin Ingame to get you set up. Character Name: Maximilian Crawford
Character Affiliation: Zombie
Character Journey(2+ paragraphs): It was a normal, quiet day in City 23. All was still and not a single living soul had passed through the slums all day... Max moaned painfully as the Headcrab squeeled and tightened it's grip, demanding food. Abiding the command of his master, Max unwillfully began to scavenge District Six for the scent of flesh. As he drags himself through the dark sewers, a man carrying a large backpack and wearing a uniform with a yellow symbol on the sleeve turns the corner. Max hides behind a pillar and waits patiently. The uniformed man makes his way down the corridor in Max's direction, a beam of light leading him. Slowly, he approaches the pillar. Max irresistably lashes out, clawing the Flashlight out of the man's hand. "Huh?!" The petrified rebel shoves the zombie away and draws a dull grey pistol. He fires blindly at the Zombie and the loud gunshots crackle throughout the District. Max falls limp as several rounds pierce through his legs, detaching them from his torso. Silence sets once again as the man ceases to fire. He picks up his flashlight and cautiously approaches the downed zombie. "Oh man, you almost got me you little shit." Tauntingly, he kicks the limp torso. As his foot makes contact, the Zombie instantly reanimates. "Yaaaaba!""What the-" The zombie torso grasps a hold of the man's leg pulling him down. Screams of anguish are carried all through the sewers as the zombie engorges itself on his insides. Satisfied, Maximilian crawls into the man's backpack for shelter where he lays dormant. Shortly after, two more men in similar uniforms arrive at the scene. "Oh shit, they killed Kenny." "Bastards.". "Well nothing we can do for him now. Grab his backpack and gun and let's get moving, it's a long way out of the city..." "Alright." One of the men bends down and picks up the backpack, sliding it on. As he does so, Max let's out a small muffled moan. "Huh? You say something?" "No...". They shrug it off and obliviously continue on.
