I have been reading on the hl2 wiki and I took a look into the Civil Protection section (http://sectorw.wikia.com/wiki/Civil_Protection) and it says that they have flare guns to notify other units of enemy contact and I thought this might be a good idea as the map is quite big and if a flare is fired units would know where to go instead of waiting for a radio call to come in and call for back up.

Seriously, the buildings are so high that you wouldn't see 20 copters in the city. Yet still I like the idea. But we have the radio for a reason you know. C:

Firing a flare means you could still chase the person while if you use your radio you have to stop.

But it still has a really high chance of no one seeing it.

Simple. If the unit in question must fire said flare, then they can RP it and request an admin to make a bright light to launch into the air with an emitter attached. Or if the unit has the T flag, they can do it themselves.
