This is a serious question. Where / how did u first learn how to play hl2rp? I honestly can't remember how i did, i just always remember knowing you don't mess with the combine and you talk properly and so on.
Was it because i played hl2 and just knew this stuff from the game? My first hl2rp experience was on tnb (back before oa or cw, when tnb was very serious) and i never acted as mingy as some people i see do
Pretty much I'm trying to figure out, is the ability to rp taught or do good rpers just know how to...

I was a minge 4-3 years ago. That guy that always ran around jumping everywhere, having shit grammar and spelling capabilities. My first server was ShitRP (now SlideFuse) and I was pulled to a small box in the map, and put into time out since I (being a minge) lied and said I knew how to RP. I occasionally used LOL ICly or even emoticons. I guess when I started being a good RPer was when an admin told me to follow the "use commas and full stops." After that, I became more intelligent with the knowledge that aging entails, and now we're here.

Minging about 3 years ago. But I soon learned to respect it. I learned from playing it and just blending that with actual RP experience.

5 or 6 months ago, when I heard about RP servers and such on GMod. I thought about going on a DarkRP server (I was never told how bad they were yet), until I saw a "HL2:RP". I went on a catalyst-gaming one (city45 shit). I already did use proper grammar (and spelling, but when I made a character and walked outside the train station...I was mugged, of course I didn't really know the guy mugging me was..mugging me, I thought there would be chat bubbles or something. So I continued on--until I realized the man was talking to me as he was standing at front of me all of this time. My mistake was that I would do the action, but not RP it (with no /me). I already found out about the button for falling over by holding F1 so I just did that. He went along with it, but as I got up I went and ran away. He went in OOC chat "[OOC]Poop Penishead: MINGERUNNER!" I stopped, because I knew he was talking to me, and I said in LOOC,"Mingerunner?". He replied,"Yeah, you ran without even RPing it." I told him I was nervous on what to exactly do since it was my first time playing and he just told me; rp with a bunch of /me's and don't mingerun or mingegrab or anything that pisses people off. I became good at it quickly, mostly from just watching other people RPing.
